that's my first thought at as well - like a basic CRUD operation that returns the row that was created as a response.

I came here to say this --- I could never floss, until the dentist got me a Waterpik and then I was like wtf why didn't I know about this earlier, so so easy and i can just think of whatever while i do it.

I too found it a fairly boring read mostly just self congratulatory.

This is revolutionary!! truly exciting stuff, I wish I read more about these sorts of breakthroughs monthly....I hope we'll get to this level more regularly with AI biology models.

I love the summary: "we study the signatures arising from a warp drive ‘containment failure’, ...." "Our work highlights the importance of exploring strange new spacetimes, to (boldly) simulate what no one has seen before.&qu

It's gotten significantly easier lately, I upgraded from v11 -> v15 with almost no downtime.

Me. I both love and hate RDS - the costs are exorbitant. I have to setup a kafka pipe streaming CDC events to replicate the data into other DB types to get the benefits of things like this.

Same I hate using dental floss, never could get into the habit. Waterpik changed my flossing habits for life, can't recommend it enough; I don't use the mouthwash, just warm water so that's a good tip.

We didn't even use red/green deployment; just had a multi-AZ deployment and migrated from 11.x -> 15.2 with about 30 seconds of downtime. No dramas really, didn't even need logical replication.

I disagree. I'm the technical co-founder and my co-founder non-technical; he's brought in so many soft skills around process, finance, sales, recruiting, etc.. that I would have (and would still) struggle at to replace. He's

This^ Trust is very important and if you can't trust your CEO to do the right thing and comply with regulations you haven't got anything.

I think a lot of people are actually pro-blocking Twitter. I like the fracturing, reduces the global hegemony of a single corporate entity controlling global communication. I'm also in that camp....no more twitter, EU competitors would

I've been in this rut for a while. For me? the solution was getting GPT-4 to start all my code, it's solved my "slow/cold start" problem. Once I have the initial code generated for my problem, editing it has proven

I don't know why you're being down voted, it's a fair enough question. Most people overrate their abilities and are expendable -- I suspect Amazon also sees this as a convenient way of getting rid of people who no longer hust

That's nothing. At New Zealand's peak we had a 22 sheep to person ratio, now it's still 5 to 1. New Zealand also has >2 to 1 ratio of cows to humans as well.

Have you done this postgresql/RDS? Because when I last tried it, the replica has to be the same major version (WAL streaming requires it) and then upgrading it to the latest version can take 10+ hours. Definitely nowhere near 5 minutes

why do you have to cut revenue? you can't continue your current ARR while cutting costs? trimming people/infra? maintenance mode for a while until you can ring better operational efficiencies out?

A few people have said the same thing, why not bring costs down. 130M in ARR and you can't save 1M a month in burn? what is holding you back from letting go ~60 people and/or trimming other costs? Raising on those terms, that dilu
