Thank you for sharing this. I had my own version of a similar thing and the strangest part about it, which I think you may agree with, was that as someone who considered themselves smart, I could tell that many of my thoughts were totally c

I think this is without question analogous to Stripe. As pg said, the reason Stripe was able to succeed is that no one else was willing to do it: it was too obviously hard. The mountain that would need to be climbed was apparent from the st

That's really tight. I'm very excited about the idea of everything becoming dynamic and code-oriented. Going into Photoshop feels like entering the dark ages these days vs. change-on-the-fly already-in-the-browser CSS3.

This looks totally amazing. Thank you for doing this and also for documenting it so well! I had to spend a lot of extra time with other Vagrant/WP integration concepts just because a lot of them were very poorly documented. Cheers!

I totally agree with you and would like to point out some of the work being done (and the major govt obstacles faced) by people like Earthship inventor Michael Reynolds in Taos, New Mexico. In the same way that big business has no interest

Perhaps the answer lies in tagging. Rather than a hierarchical categorization, everything is just tagged and thus searchable. That way you don't have to keep trying to fit everything into preexisting categories... Seems to be the direc

Care to elaborate why this is THE issue? I don't quite see how that follows from the above. OTOH My gut says you may be right but I'm not convinced. Want to try?

The original intention of Paypal, once it pivoted from Blackberry payments to online banking, was hardly trivial. Their goal was to be something akin to Bitcoin before Bitcoin. As they scaled, regulatory realities set in... but to trivializ

If it's so easy, we can do it ourselves. And then show it off to HN and rally pg's network ;) No need to be depressed yet--though I do understand your sentiments.

Can anyone provide links for information about FOIAs... I know I know I should RTFM and Google it--but if someone has some knowledge about this already, I'd really appreciate it. I'm interested in the possibility of working to set

If you jailbreak, there's f.lux which greatly helps and there's another tweak which makes the lowest brightness even lower. It's a great combo and changed the game for night-reading on the iPad for me.

I completely agree with this. This is essential for us night owls who consider 2AM today! I think the easiest way to fix this would be to give the ability to set the te when the day begins. For me, it's not 12 midnight, it's 10AM.
