I recommend to use anything but Google Authenticator. andOTP is my preferred considering you can make non-encrypted and encrypted backups of all entries. I lost my phone once and was primarily using Google Authenticator at the time. Because

An easier way may be to anonymously message a tech savvy media company or security firm, maybe via snail mail even. You can do it anonymously yourself but it'll take some work and a mashup of: - VPN service where you pay with cash (Mul

Telegram does invest heavily on their UI. It's been hard for me to convince people to move to it, regardless. I imagine I'd have an even harder time moving people to Signal. While their encryption is better, I've seen complai

So let's make it portable? There should be an easy way to transfer your account/content to another verse without losing data. Then keeping a mapping from the old@firstverse -> new@secondverse and verses only allowing a limited

Sounds like you didn't configure it to what you wanted. You can turn off the motion detection and just listen for door bell presses instead. Mine runs off the battery instead of hooking to a power line so I had to disable most of the f

What do you think about SwiftUI? I never liked coding layouts by hand but it seems a great compromise for SwiftUI, so I'm pretty happy to use it later on when more devices have moved on (which should be soon)

Sure, but Google/Android has added fine grain GPS permissions in Android 10+ so we have the option to say "just track when using app" instead of "no" or "all the time". The problem, now, is rolling it out

What I hear from others if that it isn't up to par with encryption standards that Signal and WhatsApp use since Telegram rolls their own. Also, you have to explicitly start a e2e chat with a given person, otherwise it's through, a

This is great, thanks for sharing it. I started a Rust project awhile ago to do something similar but based on a boardgame. It was fun but I didn't keep up with it. I'll try to get back at it using this as inspiration!

Apple already supports SMS to their Messages app. Those communication threads fall back to SMS rather than their proprietary protocol, I imagine. RCS equipped message apps will probably fall back to regular SMS when sending to Apple Message

I think you can only provision a compiled app to run on a phone for 7 days before needing to reinstall IF you aren't paying the $99/yr Apple dev account fee. Running on simulators is free, though.
