For developers yes, but gamers seem to have the loudest voice in the desktop PC performance conversation, so I think it's important to cater to that market.

Yup I just looked at the clang score in geekbench, for single threaded 9800x3d scored about 3200, whilst m4 had 4400... The m4 is so far above the rest it's ridiculous. Wish Apple made an x86 equivalent so that it can play Windows game

True, but since stockfish uses a way way smaller network, I still prefer to think of stockfish as the traditional engine.

Thanks for the explanation! I can only see one scenario where it doesn't work out to 2.5gbps, if we have symmetrical 2.5Gbps WAN, then to upload and download at 2.5g from a LAN device wouldn't reach 2.5, because the router has to

Is the idea to have modem and router on the same VLAN connected to that switch, and have the LAN traffic on another VLAN? So only one 2.5G port should be enough for everything?

Hmmm I think Tencent might have enough power to threaten to pull WeChat out of iOS, and that'll probably hurt Apple way more.

Oh I'm sure the other topics all do have interesting problems, but I don't have the background necessary to even tackle them. Your second paragraph conveyed exactly how I feel about combinatorics. Elegant and clever, on top of bei

So they weren't able to solve the combinatorics problem. I'm not super well versed in competition math, but combinatorics always seem to be the most interesting problems to me.

I'm wondering what heap approach can solve that problem, as I can't think of any. Hopefully OP got a link to the thesis. The n log n approach definitely works though.

The CMU class is for freshmen, so students without advanced background can still comprehend most of it. But for physics I feel that without at least some good physics and math background, you can't really understand and appreciate the

I think I wasn't being clear, the wheels basically have to rotate perpendicularly to the cars body, so there wouldn't be any extra tire wear.

It can also do 360 degree self centered turn, which should be useful. No more 3 point turns! Given the flexibility of installing the motors, I've always wondered why electric cars still can't move in a parallel way. That should be

Nah, that looks very different, one of the stated goals of S3 Express is to minimize latency, which is the only thing about the Rust S3 that I remember.

Of course not, it's designed differently from the original S3. AWS came out with this to compete with Azure premium blob storage, which has very good first byte latency, and Azure had it 4 years ago.. https://azure.microsoft

Unfortunately I don't, this is already internal information that I don't know if I should say here. I never worked on S3 and I no longer work at AWS so someone from within would have to weigh in.

If I'm not wrong, this is the low latency S3 that is written in Rust. Finally launched after years in the making.

How many is that gonna be? 20% of the devs would be a generous estimate imo.

He's the only one that lived at the end of the movie if I recall correctly, so everyone would want to be mr Pink? His rant also convinced other people on that table because there was no flaw in his reasoning.

I used to play PLO (pot limit omaha) full time and made very low 6 figures over 2 years. I quit in 2015 and went back to school for a CS degree, doing much better now financially, and the work is actually usually more interesting than poker
