Yes, I think a guy that compromises his own country's security by inadvertently sharing secret info on social media doesn't care/know much about security in the first place.

I honestly feel the ban may well be a direct result of Tiktok users helping boycott a political rally in Tulsa. They were expecting hundreds of thousands to turn up, but only a few thousand turned up, leaving the organisers utterly embarras

Is the ban driven by the fact that Tiktok users helped boycott the rally at Tulsa?

Sorry, what?! Tiktok grabs your IMEI number, amongst numerous other things and sends them back to the mother ship. Not saying that other platforms don't collect data, but Tiktok is known for being a whole other level spyware. If Apple

There's a certain amount of brainwashing I've come to expect from Apple users. My sibling uses a MacBook, but remotes into a Windows machine in order to use Excel and Word, as the native versions on Mac don't seem to have all

This is not pro-consumer behaviour. This is pro-Apple behaviour. They enjoy the lock in + fees that the app store generates. They're even stifling web apps to maintain this monopoly. If they were so pro-consumer, why do they allow spyw

It actually makes me really happy to see more positive comments on a thread about PHP. It is an incredible workhorse, and doesn't get the credit it deserves. I'm often amused by developers that revile PHP, while going on to use an

Very interesting! Can I ask, how did you implement the timer in CSS/HTML? And also, what causes the lack of responsiveness?

Misleading how? You have one platform that already allows crazy privacy violations natively, and you have another platform that you suspect might some day allow similar levels of privacy violation, yet you champion the privacy stance of the

I have nightmares about ServiceNow from my banking days. Requesting anything via it was like trying to solve a weird puzzle - you need to fill every cryptic field in just right, or `computer says "no"`!

Genuine question, what don't you understand about Git? I personally like it, but the learning curve is steep for some of the more complex operations. But then again, it is doing fairly complex things at that end of the spectrum...

Very interesting! I think every dev should have a sense of how long loops like these take, if only to have a good starting point for where to optimise code (only if needed - * insert quote on premature optimisation *).

I've very rarely seen a website block a user because of their browser in the last 10 years. If a website doesn't work in Safari, it just doesn't work. That's it. I do know that devs have to work A LOT harder to get thing

Some people are happy to buy the Apple speil re privacy to knock web apps, all while using apps like Tiktok that'll probably violate their privacy much more than a PWA ever could. The privacy argument is without basis, imo. Google is t

But Apple's app store is full of junk too - it is a veritable wild west in its own right. You have the likes of Tiktok on there, collecting way more data than a PWA ever could. Do Apple not care about that? Feels like a bit of a double

Why, then, did it take safari so long to implement ServiceWorkers? I believe they were the last of major browsers to implement it. And they landed the feature more than 2 years after Firefox! Also, why was Safari's IndexedDB feature re

I disagree. I think HTML was originally a structured document format. And CSS was another layer on top of HTML, specifically for presentation. Today, we see a mish-mash of HTML + CSS (+JS) being used for presentation, since neither HTML, no

I agree. Apple is stifling innovation by not supporting certain APIs. They need to stop doing this, or they will hurt themselves in the long run. As it is, most people use Safari on iOS because they are forced to - all other browsers on iOS
