They're similar, but day trading can fuel a gambling addiction, especially when untrained investors start to try and recoup their losses by taking bigger risks.

You seem to have raised a fair bit of money. What's your business model?

Interesting. I would have thought that just by looking at their fingers and toes they'd arrive at a set of 1 to 10 at least...

I like DigitalOcean's site for deploying servers - simple, clean and fast. A few missing advanced features in certain cases, but much more user friendly than AWS.

Not OP - it took me a bit of time, and I was often frustrated by the things you can't quite do with the product. This was a few months ago though, so things might have changed.

On a big screen it's nice, but I find the mobile experience of the Stripe dashboard website terrible.

I can only imagine some investment banks have donated a fair bit given that HAProxy now has built in support for FIX. I really wasn't expecting to see that!

The cost of the sentence is screen real estate, plus a distraction from the purpose of the post. I sometimes feel the collective of spirit of HN can never be satisfied. If you do put that sentence in, someone will probably question why it&#

HAProxy is so well known that it really doesn't need to. I mean, you wouldn't expect Facebook to mention the fact that it's a social network on every one of its blog posts. And if you don't know of the product, just Goog

PHP has to be one of the easiest set ups. Even more so nowadays if you're just grabbing a docker image...

Back in the day perhaps, but not today. PHP has come a really long way.

PHP deliberately has a low barrier to entry, and as a result there is a lot of poor quality code out there, written by beginners. People like to use this fact to suggest that the entire language is bad, which it most certainly is not. I

Remember, it's not the job of consultants to solve your problems. It's their job to sell you consulting. The blockchain concept was incredible for these guys, because it was so poorly understood by most people (including the consu

Genuinely impressed! For me, the most impressive part is the configurability of the charts. Did you implement each configuration for each chart type individually, or were you leveraging some library to help populate the chart configuration

There's Twitter's PWA, which isn't too bad in my opinion. My product has approx 300k users and is a PWA: https://usebx.com - our users seem to like it :)

Really like the concept and demo. And it looks well made! Just out of interest, is this something you did as a hobby/for fun, or was there a particular use case you were addressing?

Browser based apps generally struggle to function well offline (this is also true of certain native apps, but that's a whole other discussion). Using the PWA "toolbox" you can have in-browser apps stored locally via service w

Well exactly, but they have convinced (brainwashed?) a bunch of their users that they're really on their side. In my experience, Android users are generally not plagued by this misconception to as great an extent.
