+1 We had a multi-month project to get a subset of our data considered 'clean', and it required a consultant, a stats PhD and many dev hours. It was healthcare, so on the high end of paranoia (justifiably) but nowhere it is as sim

Read the rest of his blog; it’s wonderful and I’m devastated that someone I followed for years is going to vanish. Thank you for giving us all some of your time on this earth.

I hate approximately everything about this article, but I'm glad that I took a second look through because this is a decent framework for the-thing-which-he-swears-isnt-prompt-engineering: --- * diagnosis * decomposition * reframing *

I’m inclined to agree with all this but when I’m conversation with someone who has only ever been in a Manager schedule, what would you recommend I point to as actual evidence? Specifically on the cost of meetings to developers.

Strong +1 (squared) to the quadratic voting suggestion. But I don’t think that it could be implemented in any sizable existing community, it is just too abstract of a benefit. But the discussion around SMOL Webb communities, feels applicabl

I’m like 95%, but not 100%, sure this is not a deep fake. Is there any corroborating evidence that he actually said this? If true, it should be easy, since it looks like a pretty well attended event. Alternatively, I would love some pointer

I'm definitely open to more models for funding, but it didn't seem like Kickstarter really worked even for what should have been its sweet spot. Definitely tell me if I'm wrong, but the fact that they had to put out this blog

One big open question for me is what my body counts as stress. I have had short, objectively stressful situations, which had no impact. My longer-term stresses feel like they are more of the style “it’s a job, that is why they pay you“ but

I am about five years out from a similar situation, so let me give you a glimmer of hope: I did get better, very slowly. I wish I could say why, I’ve obviously tried all sorts of things and also a lot of life has happened between then and n

Look at the plots, there is one huge outlier in the small number of overall samples which is driving a lot of the results. I don’t even disagree with the conclusions, but this is not strong evidence for it.
