The far more common approach at the moment is to use Electron though hopefully Google will create Linux, macOS, and Windows targets for compiled binary Flutter applications in the future.

Google can't make it happen unilaterally other than the Pixel phones. Without both the carrier and the handset maker putting work into the upgrade it won't happen. And the handset makers like Samsung don't want to cannibalize
