Train is always more expensive partly because they don't get the tax exemption and cheap fuel airlines get. If airfares were priced the way train is, they'd be a lot more expensive and much less competitive.

I for one had no idea they were so bad until I had the pleasure to experience flying with them. I now try and warn everyone who will listen to pick any airline but TK.

I don’t think this is on the passengers. If checking luggage in wasn’t an extra fee (often), didn’t carry a material risk to have your luggage lost, damaged, late, stolen, and didn’t mean spending an extra 30–60 minutes waiting to collect i

It feels to me like there is a little wiggle room between "perfection" and being treated like cargo. Anyway you do you, to keep things polite.

Which is why regulation is necessary in my opinion. I also buy the cheapest plane ticket I can find when going somewhere because I know it will suck, I'll get shafted, and I'll regret my decision no matter what. I can't tell

From asking around (I had a loooot of time to waste in IST), TK routinely strands hundreds of people everyday at IST. That’s just how they operate and the treatment we received isn’t unusual. It was seriously the worst experience I’ve ever

The margins are not that big, yes. But it’s also part of the deal: I buy a ticket to fly somewhere, not for a gamble that on the day of the flight the airline will choose to disrupt my plans and cancel the flight because they’re not making

There are very few consumer experiences as miserable as air travel these days. It’s just a joke. Plane not full enough to make a big enough profit? Cancel the flight. Reroute the flight. Delay the luggage. Force passenger to check hand lugg

The only thing that works well for me on iOS is nextdns. Works with any browser and most apps, I only see ads in the YT app that I don’t use as a result. Maybe that will be useful to you?

Look up maps showing areas that are at risk of deadly temperatures, droughts, floods, and other climate events for the country you live in… it’s concerning to put it mildly. Most governments have made these maps but they’re not always easy

This doesn’t seem limited to that particular boot camp, sadly. I’ve instructed at two boot camps (one in North America and one in Europe). It seems to be standard practice in the industry: inflating placement numbers, very low quality mater

I have this thing where it’s very difficult for me to use something that I know will run out and can’t get more of. And so I have a lot of wine that I don’t drink because this vintage isn’t made anymore (obviously), and if I finish that bot

I’m not certain, no. But I’d be curious to see. In my building, each floor is around 20–30 cm thick concrete.

I wonder if anyone is liable for the damages in this case? If I threw something up in the air and it landed on someone’s car, I’m pretty sure I’d have to pay for the repair. I suspect that a plane crashing into a building also makes the air

I’ve tried that a while back with my SO who has a very keen sense of disorientation . It was very aggravating to my SO and I quickly decided I value our relationship more than always being the one to read the map. YMMV.
