I don't see why teaching that ethics comes before career isn't a priority. There's a validation that either the victim or the enablers are put into a morale delma to worry about their career over ethics. Shouldn't we be

The multional's products sold in western Europe I wouldn't call good quality food, I think the bigger issue is the produce and fresh goods are not very good. And honestly the produce isn't that great in Austria either.

Nationalizing doesn't mean the decisions won't be for the benefit of a single person, a single person can manipulate them regardless, and the people will support it.

I'd like to see more mature solutions that store all my data in the cloud, revision it there, and just use my local hard disk as a workspace cache instead. I suspect that's one of the reasons CrashPlan is exiting too, they can

C++ projects I work on just require you to use a current compiler, or an older one if the project is older. So seems like 927 might not be as big an issue.

The IOCCC is fun, but isn't it time for C/C++ to get standard formatting for consistent readability? Like Go and Python.

I had a flight get delayed due to needing an OS reinstall on a 737-800, the OTA update failed and they had to send someone out to connect to the USB port to recover the OS. The plane was bricked essentially and couldn't take off. Fun.

It was a bit surprising when I found out, but I think the really interesting part is that low quality web tech are the weak link in the chain. That was an eye opener.

Not sure why you're citing some unrelated incident, I think you're jumping to conclusions that I'm talking about the one you cited, but I'm not. This one was not made public.

S3 has had a data loss too sadly, a console UI bug lead to the wrong files getting deleted if I recall correctly. Yet another reason for frontend web tech to improve.

I think the difference would be that UE is used more in AAA games that have high performance requirements, which can be non-trival. You can see an example of troubleshooting lock hitches using a 3rd party tool to get an idea of the complexi

Would be interesting if the author could comment on the memory footprint and performance of having an additional GC'ed language running alongside the engine. It seems like it could lead to complex hitching issues.

The engine makes uses of shared pointers to do ref counting, and will deallocate unrefed objs for you. Additionally there is a built in asset GC system.
