Isn’t this due to supply constraints, at least in part? There simply are not enough teslas available to meet current demand, so they end up buying other brands to avoid waiting a few months.

Chris Rufer may run a tight operation but I have nothing nice to say about him as a person, especially how he communicates with his growers. I’ll leave it at that.

Alfalfa is especially good for adding nitrogen, but clover can do the same for a home garden. You are correct on the number of years between plantings, but really only 2-3 years off are needed to clear the fungus. Alfalfa just lasts longer.

Definitely a good opportunity for selling the higher value tomatoes restaurants and some upscale markets desire. I like the emission benefits of shorter supply chains too. Best of luck, I doubt our tomatoes will be competing with each other

How many square meters will that facility be, and what is the cost to construct? At $100M I don’t see how it would be financially viable. 50k kg a day is approximately 600 acres of tomatoes with our yields. That much land in CA might sell f

Interesting, but not that dissimilar to the United States. I grow a couple thousand acres of tomatoes in California, all of which are for processing into juices and pastes. These tomatoes are all transported in open-topped trailers by semi,

I need to write that I was slightly mistaken, CA houses half of the “unsheltered” in the United States and only a quarter of the “homeless.” The unsheltered are highly visible and make up 70% of the total homeless in CA, the highest rate in

CA has 1/2 the population of homeless in the US but only 1/8 of total population. The eastern seaboard has close to half the US population but obviously cannot have nearly the same rate of homeless. Something is at play, though it

Being stuck at an intersection for 10 minutes as cyclists meander through does not make me want to support their cause. Seeing such a large group act in a coordinated and legal manner probably would.

Doctors are expected to give medical advice while the US government is banned from policing speech. The analogy is fundamentally flawed.

The owners of public companies are irrelevant to the large public company’s continued existence. Owners for them come and go and pay their own taxes, but the company never has to pay the estate taxes itself, hence the advantage against thos

These businesses have a natural limit to their growth due to the estate tax. If the company grows too large, the taxes on death can be crippling for families that can not plan decades in advance. Public corporations do not have to pay this

There are entire textbooks written about how to construct options from a combination of short and long positions in different assets offset by borrowing. It’s not trivial, but it’s a well established discipline in trading world. For anyone

I have not looked at the financials, but equity compensation to employees can often be vesting at a significant higher rate around the time of an IPO and push an otherwise profitable company into a short-term net loss.

Pretty nice for Cloudflare that their closest competitor makes very little effort to gain customers, and actively avoids the hobbyist set which is key for mindshare.

It’s a bit of both. Lots of countries have low wages and lax safety protocols, but they haven’t been able to hit double digit gdp growth for decades because of that alone.

The book “On China” by Henry Kissinger makes almost that exact argument. Whatever your opinion on Kissinger, he opened relations with China and definitely has an interest viewpoint.

I have not heard about that, I’ll check it out. The water situation is not good for a lot of farmers, but we are fortunate with where our aquifer-drawing land is located and that most of our acres don’t draw from the aquifer at all.
