I would love to know more about this. Would it not be (at least theoretically) possible to hackintosh ARM, as Asahi Linux reverse engineered at least some parts of the M series?

Exactly! And even if Sequoia is the last OS to have Intel support, it will be some years before it stops receiving updates. Currently you are only missing out on "Apple Intelligence" when using Hackintosh or Intel Mac - some even

This is a very good idea! But how would we enforce and check this (see recent issues to enforce right to repair)? What would be the KPIs - repairability score? Apple for example is arguing against this by saying that when they repair things

Hackintoshing supports internal GPUs (iGPU) as well (not only RX 580) - and lots of people install on their Lenovo Thinkpads or other notebooks.

ARM processors significantly differ from Apple Silicon. Apple's M series are not fully compliant with the ARM64 ISA and contain undocumented instructions. There was a discussion about that a few month ago on /r/hackintosh ht

To be fair - the reverse engineering has to be done for every of the M series, and the M1 is the best supported Apple SoC so far. I guess we should support the project if we want them to succeed (they live from donations).

OP: here is an approach to restore OpenCL acceleration in Blender on Linux using Rusticl and chipStar. Rusticl is an OpenCL implementation on top of Gallium drivers (and part of Mesa). chipStar is a tool for compiling and running HIP/C

OP here. I have Black Magic Davinci Resolve 19 running on Linux with Wayland (confirmed with Gnome, Hyprland and Niri). The complication was that I am running on an old AMD GPU (fiji) the AMD R9 Fury X. I have used the open source AMD drive
