Nothing is obvious in geopolitics. See US-Cuba, India-Sri Lanka-LTTE, Iraq-Kuwait etc. Being larger just means you can make risky moves. But those moves can blow up in spectacular unpredictable ways.

It's not a new level. Cognitive dissonance is an essential requirement to work in Wall St, the MIL complex, Exxon, big tobacco, the gambling industry etc etc. They all have their own stories about how it's okay to exploit weakness

Not an accountant or a mathematician, pt 4 reminded me of an issue I had dealing with numbers in a table. The annoying thing that happens with SUBTRACTION (i.e. the process that generates negative numbers) is 2 milion - 2 million and 2 - 2

The data is all garbage. Data in India has a long way to travel from village to town to district to state to the national level. At each stage all kind of errors intentional and unintentional enter the system. All these errors keep accumula

Given auto translate works reasonably well these days, how much commonality does Negative Content over different regions and languages have? Anyone know? Is it like 10%? 80%? There must be, by now, a whole lot of data on whats getting flagg

Too much overconfidence in Reliance. This is the same firm well known for totally missing the boat on India's IT boom. It has done a great job deploying the network. Unmatched probably anywhere in the world. But that set of skills has

Deep Blue brute forced that search space. With 1997 hardware. They didn't have to look at 10^120 to beat Kasprov. "The system could search to a depth of between six and eight pairs of moves—one white, one black—to a maximum of 20

Depends on the domain. Why did DeepMind pick Go as a challenge rather than Chess? Because with Chess you can store the entire search space in memory. With Go you can't.
