This is just a story, but when the switch two pricing was released weeks (months?) ago it was a topic of conversation at my local cafe. None of the people there are gamers, but some of them do own switches. Everyone agreed they would not be

The pricing of games aren’t based in reality. The marginal cost of producing additional copies is almost nothing, especially for digital distribution. Looking at pricing changes due to inflation doesn’t make sense for digital goods.

Games are more expensive, but the market of gamers is larger. We can do this back and forth all day! The clear fact is that when consumers are getting squeezed, there will be backlash against price raises like this. I have never missed a Ni

Most localities have laws against invading someone’s privacy. There don’t need to be special laws for every specific type of surveillance.

It removes ambiguity between ET (which do I mean?), EST (oops I meant EDT), and EDT (oops I meant EST). I suspect they probably had an issue related to this, and prevailing time seems to work for them. UTC is probably better, but a little l

This is an easy case for home automation. I use voice control for my fan (though it is the older style type, I have a Caseta fan control switch).

Bidet (no hand sprayer, just a toilet seat based jet) works fine in this US household. I don’t notice the cold in the winter. Maybe I have an exceptionally robust asshole, but our water gets very cold in the winter.

My bathroom in the USA does not have a floor drain. I have a bidet. The tile floor is 60 years old, no damage.

At least in the US, the “plant-based”, “biodegradable”, sewer or septic safe wet wipes are anything but sewer and septic safe. They cause such problems that in my town with older sewers there are huge fines if you’re tracked down flushing t

I agree - I think the average driver is average. Not great, not bad! That's why they're average, right? If the average driver were terrible, then terrible would be average, and we'd be back to where we started. The fact that

Is it still the case in China that it's cheaper to kill a pedestrian you hit with your car than it is to pay out damages? This might be propaganda! If so, I wonder if or how that affects the algorithms for pedestrian avoidance. :)

My cpap mask doesn’t suck at all. It blows. (Wokka wokka!) But it also makes sleep way more comfortable. I slept the entire night in my mask the first night, I was so worried about it and it turned out to be a non-issue. I love my mask.
