Well, that's openbox for you. Openbox though used the XML quite nicely to enable GUI configuration (never looked into the code, I assume they did not implement it just with regexps...), so there is that advantage at least.

The article might have a point in that US gaming experience is prioritized in western media. But isn't that understandable? The journalists will write for the public that has in general a specific shared history, and that just won'

I'd say so, yes. But it's utterly cool to see yourself and the people you know create the nodes of a project over the years. In that way maybe there is some more to it, it gives perspective.

Right, or: maybe. Depends on where you are (or maybe better: where they are), and whether data collections fall under copyright or some other protection that is translateable enough for the gpl to apply. But if they really also used code th

Not talking about DDD here, but the linked article describes this as his alternative approach.

Given the state of programming, think javascript frameworks on the Web or always failing overly complex enterprise software, statements like that can easily be just spot on.

Fair enough, the comment certainly did. But the message or question was more supposed to be about that a simple crud app does not need a big methodology anyways, and that DDD isn't meant for that in the first place (iirc building a sim

There are some things in there I did not exactly get. Mainly, if every class has its own table, and database operations are all so similar, is the software produced not only a collection of very simple mechanical operations? How could there

I'm honestly not sure what a OS native tab is supposed to be, on Linux. And I do not see why "emulated tabs" of WezTerm couldn't just do the actions that you describe. The Firefox tabs do after all, and they do not look

Wezterm does have tabs, and their related keyboard shortcuts are configurable. See https://wezfurlong.org/wezterm/config/lua/keyassignment/Spaw... for a starting point in the config.

Ssh keys are files that can be moved easily from device to device. That's very different to using e.g. your proprietary macbook internals as your login key. Completely different lock-in.

With Germany in recession and being such a big market for them, and the price consciousness of German consumers, they can't raise prices all that much I'd assume. We'll see. But you are right, they will certainly try.

While it may very well be true that alternative ingredients will play a role they could also just follow the regulations and not destroy forests to grow cocoa beans. Self-obliged regulation like fair trade has been a thing for decades now,

The one convincing argument from technical people I saw, that would be repeated to your comment, is that by now, you dont find enough experienced engineers to reliably setup some really big systems. Because so much went to the cloud, a lot

Not sure what parent meant, but the right way should be an opml file with the feeds, which the feed reader then can import. But maybe you are offering that already?

Sax style parsing is a godsend when dealing with large files, regardless of json or xml. It's indeed what made me switch to a different json library in a Ruby project of mine (I'd have to look it up, but probably to oj).

Just because I looked that up recently, there are at least three forks based on amarok 1: Exaile (a GTK port), Clementine (a fork towards Qt4) and Strawberry (a fork of Clementine, I don't know the background).

The legal situation has completely changed since then. By now, we have court cases punishing companies for ignoring the dnt signal. And with the gdpr there is a legal framework that makes this signal powerful anyway. Removing this feature n

I think it doesn't. But YouTubes copyright system is not a translation of how copyright actual works. Usually, these attacks are on YouTube and YouTube alone, as their system enables this.

That's not correct. In countries with real health care, all treatments that are listed for an illness are always approved. There just is no denial process that could block e.g. a cancer treatment. A doctor diagnoses it and decided the

Having had to migrate a very simple project from GTK2 to GTK3, I don't think it's all that weird. The migration was utterly difficult, in the areas that hit me seemingly no effort was made to give proper migration paths. Only with
