The author may not realize (I only know this because my mother worked for the Soviet arcade ministry of sorts in the 80s) is that there was a whole illicit angle to the arcade business. They were all cash-based - which created huge opportun

My initial angry reply had mostly to do with the perception that you were saying 'Saying that men are more interested in sex than women is sexist and should, therefore, be not mentioned'. That is my pet peeve - current climate of

Yep - exactly. I think a lot of it has to do with the self-perception that as a man with significantly increased wealth, your pool of women who would be interested in you is vastly expanded. But then you realize that the women aren't i

But then again you may spend the cost of a house in some african village when you have a dinner out with friends. Just like a car going at 60mph isn't breaking any speed records - but a human would. It's all relative :)

I'm actually pretty grateful to the editor who compiled them. I don't care for Twitter and would have no way of reading this story otherwise.

Hat's off to you, guys! I search for 'FAR alternative for mac' every 3-4 months (to no avail so far), so very happy to have discovered this. One question - would it be possible to implement live display of folder size? To me

I don't give a shit what you think is sexist. It's a meaningless claptrap that tries to substitute truth for political correctness. I care about facts being true or false. For example here is a page that explains the issue: htt

Your being unhappy with a generalization as being 'sexist' is your own problem. The rest of the world just doesn't care that you feel this way. If you want others to actually listen to your view and not dismiss as meaningless

The supposition that Uber spent 15bio to lobby NYC to let it operate in the city is nonsensical. Nevermind the alternative that it's not Uber's business to spend money on fixing the L train.

Not really. That's called losing a war. In most cases, when a war is lost, one side agrees to the terms they would probably deem unfavorable before the war had started. That's why we say they 'lost' the war.

You're mixing things up. Parental income can be seen as the result of parental traits that (if passed to the offspring) will help them in life - intelligence & industry. Ie the parents are rich because they are smart and work hard.
