I didn't use Mailbox, but I think one of the key features is the snooze button, that makes an email disappear from your inbox and then reappear later. I think at the time Mailbox came out Google didn't offer that feature. The GMai

I thought "the standard LaTeX approach" is that you put all of the style information into a document class (or, if you have only minor modifications of a standard document class, into a package) and then all of the content in a se

Well, rewriting a 80+ line comprehension as an 80+ line series of nested loops and conditionals wouldn't increase readability in my opinion. What would make it easier to read is to divide the computation into several smaller steps, whi

Huh. You seem to think nobody could possibly find comprehensions as easy to read as loops. That surprises me because I think the reason they got implemented in many programming languages is precisely that many people find them easier to rea

I agree that separation of form from content makes life amazingly simple, that's one the main virtues of LaTeX. :) As I said before, preferring Markdown and YAML solely on account of syntax seems fair to me.

One thing I didn't really see in that post is why not just LaTeX directly. Is it just that you prefer Markdown syntax? (Which I guess is a valid reason.)

Have you compared the MoarVM and JVM backends recently? Is one substantially faster than the other for your applications?

"my" is shorter than "local" or "let" and fairly evocative. Maybe you should ask why other languages don't use "my", instead. :P

" Rakudo's had more testing since it's been around forever but MoarVM is where my hopes lie " is a little confusing to me. Rakudo and MoarVM are not the same type of thing. Rakudo is a Perl 6 compiler with multiple bac

Yes, it's easy: to test divisibility by n make a graph with n verities labeled 0 through n-1; put black arrows from each vertex k to (k+1) mod n; and put white arrows from each k to 10k mod n. (That's for testing divisibility by n

That is only a test for divisibility by 7, not 'division by 7', which is typically understood to compute the quotient.

I think you're not supposed to take away the absolute numbers, but only the ratios: so 10 MVPs really means only make MVPs for 1/10 of all your ideas. So one MVP at a time follows the guidelines if you have around 10 ideas!

(a-bx) is not zero, x is a variable. when x=pi, a-bx is zero, otherwise not. a-bx=0 is an equation whose solution is x=pi. The function f(x) is not identically zero, it is however zero when evaluated at x=pi: f(pi)=0.
