Besides that little inaccuracy I very much agree with most things in the article and think it brings up good points. Specifically the part about allocator handling is a huge thing for me. Having the allocator be a global thing has always be

Probably just a small miss, but in the first section the author refers to stack space limitations possibly hit when calling malloc. That should probably refer to heap space. Or if it is stack space they meant then maybe not malloc but rathe

The AI containment we will use is a library dependency mess so incomprehensible not even Skynet can solve it, leaving it unable to execute the "kill humans"-script.

It might also have dwindled because there actually has been meaningful and in my eyes good legislation introduced. Both the EU net neutrality proposition and the California one is very similar and very reasonable imo. I might be in minority

I am part of the interest group "AI's who know Python" and together with "Aliens who know Python" we would like to file a complaint that this article is exclusionary for no good reason.

Those are very solvable problems. I work with non-TCP traffic in pcaps very often and while I agree encrypted traffic is annoying to deal with sometimes because of the extra step it can be solved with good tooling.

Since one of the suggestions the article brings up is QUIC then won't it happen almost automatically? Atleast the distributed systems I work with usually have http between their parts (a few with some other RPC solution). Then when the

I have also thought a lot about Austral lately. I have very similar conclusions as the OP. I love the simpleness of the language. I work with a kinda high performance networking (DPDK use) as my day job so we work in C and while I love C qu

I usually think of it as a very scientific inspired process. Information gathering - Hypothesis forming - testing - evaluation. Easy problems / bugs require next to no hypothesis. You just see the error, backtrace or whatever and can g

I feel like HTMX should have a place somewhere there at the top next to Static, as "Expanded HTML" or simply HATEOAS or something like that. Very comprehensive list otherwise.

I very much agree. Rust has some good ideas but the more I've tried it and played with it it lacks that restraint you mentioned. Sooo many concepts, so many sub-languages for different parts. Don't get me wrong, I like the memory

Don't listen to most of the people here. Perl? What are they talking about. It is a concatenative shell. Think forth. That said, the examples could be better explained just like you did here now. The examples are not bad but things lik

Personally I think their strategy is genius, given you have the money to perform it. In such a high risk, high cost, huge returns buisness as gaming you need to have a large spread and buying IPs for low and do something with it is probably

Yeah but I am fairly sure it is an AI generated joke - and I chose to only laugh at human created humour. I use an AI to check for me if the joke might be AI-funny and not real-funny. Then only if it is real funny might I humour it with a c

I kinda prefer cooperation over decentralization. Decentralization as a design goal is a way to reach cooperation. You can have very well cooperating system parts in a centralised solution. The thing is that most centralised platforms has b

No real critique against this project but where I work we have an in-house build system called Bob and I've heard several other companies that have systems named the same. The Bob the builder reference is too easy to pick up I guess. W

A modern version of APL I personally really found a fondness towards were BQN. I really like some of the lisp-y influences in that language and it is open-source (which some of the more well known other APLs are not).
