I disagree, everything is much simpler without React. I'm actually working on writing a tutorial for creating structured code for dynamic content with vanilla JS. With Ecmascript 6, a lot of advanced concepts has become much simpler an

For analytics/OLAP you can use ZFS compression with a large block size, zstd support is just around the corner too. I would still use compression for a OLTP database, but with much lower block size, max 16kb.

I think that backend is really fast, but I believe that is because when I self host it is on a local server with extremely low latency. The UI is somewhat slower though, code highlightning show up a second after page render.

Postgresql is good for analytics, but it doesn't scale really well with a lot of data. I have moved my analytics to Clickhouse, 1000x better performance.

Are index scans supposed to be faster with prefetch? It is random read at 8kb. I usually set read_ahead_kb to 8kb on disks/tablespaces for indexes.

A typical db may do index scan on disk, which requires several times as many io operations per 8kb (Postgresql/Oracle size) page compared to seq scan. These are executed with low queue depth.
