Hardest part of reading code is knowing where to start. I wasn't around at this point, but I can only imagine the horror of a C programmer seeing their beautiful art broken apart into a bunch of nonsensical files in C++. I like that Go

That works too. Pretty much the same result. More people are just familiar with HTML/JS I’d wager. How do you handle users and permissions?

web based solutions are getting crazy good. Pixlr in the browser probably works better than Gimp for simple use cases. https://pixlr.com/

I suspect that Valve is actively working on anti-cheat solutions because of the upcoming Steam Deck console.

Yeah two-way data binding isn’t exactly new. What I would like to see more of is “no backend” type solutions that allow you to just write front ends that leverage existing auth, databases, etc eg. Sia, Gun, Dfinity, etc

There’s no reason that intermediaries couldn’t be used. But it wouldn’t be part of the actual core tech. There should be multiple options for such things as well. All competing for better service.

It is the common narrative, yes. But it doesn’t need to be. Monero has view keys that allows for audit-ability, for example.

Algorand is the exact opposite ethos from Monero. They are partnered with the World Economic Forum and being used for things like vaccine passport haha

I have definitely noticed a functional programming to golang pipeline. Multiple people used Haskell and switched to Golang. Interesting anecdotes.

This reminds me of identity in Secure-Scuttlebutt. It’s my favorite naming system. Basically you’re just an unpronounceable identity. Other people give you names. Different people call you different things. After all, when you’re born, you’

Maybe it failed in the consumer app space because it couldn’t keep up with user experience expectations. But if that is the metric, then Matrix already failed too, right? One new server + consumer app combo could revive XMPP for consumers q

Who wouldn’t want their data pinned? That is the expected behavior of a chat app today. So to provide a “first choice” experience, they will need to do so. So, how does P2P solve the metadata sponge problem?
