I think the imaginary problem he meant was searching without being "tracked." The vast majority of users simply don't care. The ones who do can get around it.

This makes me wonder - who at Apple decided it was necessary to make their own maps app? It's easy to blame Forstall for a crappy product. But if someone else was responsible for mandating the change, assigning him the project, and pushing

I own a Galaxy Nexus, and I dislike the pentile display. The nexus 7, which has the same resolution but is 2" larger, appears sharper. The pentile display also causes noticeable grain (to me) on solid colors.

Android is Linux-based, so... yeah. It runs pretty well on touchscreen type devices.

I don't really think that's true at all. Google just generates the most newsworthy headlines. The same trend can be found on many other sites. I think TechCrunch once posted an analysis of their headlines that showed something like a 3:1

Depends on the kind of pants you wear. My Nexus 7 fits in the pockets of my shorts and they're average size. (I tested just to see once. I don't carry it that way. :)

Wouldn't it take a lot less effort to just disable notifications once, rather than make sure you're signed out of Google every time you use it?

I think that what he means is, if you're on G+ and you go to Google, there's already a link to your G+ profile at the top for you. You just click it, instead of searching. And then if you want to find something specific maybe you do the s

Still seems to be just a rather clear distinction between being in a movie or not being in a movie, regardless of significance of the part or role played. To me this doesn't seem like a flaw.

There's one thing I don't understand about the mystery of dark matter. I don't understand why the simple explanation for it isn't just that it's regular matter that is not stars. Maybe there are just bajillions of planets and dust clouds

I'm pretty sure with Google you can link up to 10 accounts, and you can have as many Gmail windows open as you want for various accounts that are linked. So if you want five different Gmail tabs open at the same time, just link the account

This is kind of a silly comment. Google is only crushing competitors where their services are actually superior. Dropbox still exists and I assume has many more users than Drive. Facebook still exists and is still by far the most success

I once was a happy iTunes/App Store user, for my iPad. One day, late at night, I started getting receipts in my inbox for App Store purchases. Apparently I was purchasing the same $15 app once every 5 minutes. Except, I wasn't. It was onl

Okay, I thought you were making no distinction between your #2 and #3. But eh, I thought it was kind of cool. The jumping out of planes part didn't help sell the product to me, it was just fun to watch. Brin was so genuinely excited.
