Also: he ate fastfood for some time, started with 'healthy' Soylent and noticed he felt better. So I think he got the wrong reference. But ofcourse there is also a lot of sweet marketing talk in the article.

Most of the time the 'smart' printer software is to blame. But I think if you stick to world units and print at 100% you will be fine. Remember that dpi only controls print quality not print measurements. One cm printed at 300dpi

As a developer I need to SEE the url as well. A lot of time I need to check get params. Also when hovering a link I need to see the full url in the status bar.

Ultimaker Original. I think its one of the best. Also very hackable. But I discovered 3d printing is hard. Sometimes you have to make a lot of test prints to get the right settings for a piece. But overall its a lot of fun and very nice for

The most interesting about this project is the feedback of the motors. Knowing the position of the motors is making this very accurate.

I think a lot of rules shouldn't be created. It's just enough to speak up. Someone behaving bad while drinking? Talk to the person the next day. Two people starting a relationship at work? Talk to them about having a bad time at w

By taking pictures of different angles a point cloud can be generated from the depth data which can be triangulated into a 3D model. I own a 3D printer and hope 3D scanning apps will soon be available. On the other hand, this demo is showin

Newborns can hear a SNR of about 120dB which is around 21-bit. So 24-bit seems useless for playing back audio. But I always wonder how much of the sound we hear by feeling (skin, hair vibrations). Because maybe I can't hear 1Hz, but I

Because most companies don't care enough. A lot of companies are still hosting in the US. But hackers overtaking banking for example might be a real risk.

I doubt if the NSA did know about this bug. Because if they did they would have put the economy at a huge risk.

If you take a look at the video you will notice it doesn't work. The white lines are much brighter than the glow in the dark lines. This is only an improvement when you are driving without lights (which is illegal).

The only think that bothered me in this story was how quickly they determined the size. When I watched the video I thought about the size of maybe 5cm.

I think a lot of people underestimate how much money is going in in in-company-apps. As an app developer I prefer Android over Apple because of how easy it is to deploy your app.

This is also a problem in architecture. When a photorealistic render of a building is presented to a client the client assumes it will be built just like the render (beautiful sky and green trees included).
