I suppose it depends where you are. In Washington DC (where I live) there is a DC Nightowls group ( http://nightowls.dcacm.org ) which meet up at night for people who want to work. It's a nice community of people. Maybe your city has som

I have no idea what the rules were when you did it, but it definitely sounds like a bit of rule bending if they were anything close to what they are today. Either way, I am sure it was a memorable experience!

I look to my daily life and those around me. I am fortunate enough to work in a co-working space (Affinity Lab in DC) that isn't only filled with technology companies. It's a diverse group of people covering all sorts of different fields f

The diving one scared me a bit, I just finished my certification 2 days ago for open water (18m). It seemed odd to me that you were at 40m on your third dive when basic certification (PADI) required 4 dives. Not sure what it's supposed to

X and Y can cost the same amount and solve different amounts of pain and both be priced accurately. How? Amount of Pain X Solves < Amount of Pain Y Solves X solves a problem for a small market where the consumers are still find it worth

I think that's non-sense. Just because X and Y cost the same to solve doesn't mean they are equal pain-wise. It doesn't take into account any of relevant factors like market size. I've seen a lot of services that are trivial in compariso

That was my impression as well. It's what made sense. However, that comma makes it very unclear technically.

Thanks, I took a lot at that before posting. Most seemed to fit into the categories of: old, for teaching/proof of concept, ports of other languages. None really stood out as in-use and actually different from english programming languages

I saw that listed on the wikipedia page. It looked hilarious. But none of the languages listed looked 'practical' other than simply ports/translations of existing languages. I was really curious to see if there were popular and differen

That is my experience with comcast dns too. Although, I have had some issues with google dns too on a rare occasion where I had to change back to something else (comcast or opendns) for a short while until google dns worked again. They ne

Make them aware of it. I've lost sales I would have taken the counter offer but I didn't realize it was their final offer. It sucks (for both sides) when you could have done a deal both of you would have been happy with had you realized i

I've been a seller and a buyer. Made a living off it for a while even. My opinion is 3k is about average for a domain sale. If I recall average sale was in the ~2000-3000 range. It's a pretty reasonable asking price without knowing anyth

That's the nicest C&D I've seen. Even offering to help pay for changes to expedite the process. That's just beyond classy.

Neo4j is in Malmo ( http://www.neotechnology.com/2012/05/neo-technology-is-hirin... ) You can check out The Duffy Agency (English language ad-agency in Malmo), no idea what their hiring situation is. Very nice team of guys.

Horrible investment. You're buying what people haven't picked up in 27 years. If you want to see what happens when people mass buy based on patterns lookup what happened to 4 letter .coms. There was quite a bubble that's been long since b

Appreciate the clarification. In my honest opinion, there are very few domains that would really qualify as 50k names. I think the average sale is around 2k-2.5k according to the data I've seen. What would you say at that price?

That's an odd response given the way you initially phrased it. It wasn't an economic comparison for your company directly (arguably it was indirect support for supporting industries). You talk about burning cash (which I would read as not
