"people" don't. This is largely just a hn-ism which I've pretty much never heard outside of this bubble. In any case, repeating a cliche response on any news out of Google isn't any kind of substantive contribution

Why, with charging standards? It's not like we needed ford gas stations, Honda gas stations etc. For Tesla it made sense since they were the first movers, but I think everyone else will just rely on the infra provided by 3 or 4 big pla

The Tally Ho fella talks about taking his boat up north once it is finished a lot, and I'm sure there will be a lot of high quality vlog content, but that might not be for another year or more.

It's strange that they're making a default feature in Google maps for like 10 years seem like a magical idea they just invented.

Governments exist, and the current standard of identity verification is a laminated piece of paper with a picture on it. If you're giving away free money you might want to have a standard slightly higher than that.

Why would inequality be the important metric, and not absolute quality of life? If we killed a few billionaires, there would be less inequality in America, but I don't think anyone's life would actually be better for it.

Transformer is overly specific. Most people won't care about the actual architecture and would just treat it as a black box.

I have a model y and it's the only car I've ever driven in where I need to give passengers a tutorial on how to do basic things like open the doors(from inside and out). I actually didn't know about the emergency door opener

People who previously lied about usage probably won't admit it now, because lying in itself, regardless of reason, is grounds for losing your security clearance.

Except it doesn't! In fact, first cousin once removed(FCOR) can mean both: your parent's sibling's grandchild, OR your grandparent's sibling's child. These are usually two very different relationships(if they exist)

Not the first, or second, or third person I've heard about being duped by a farming gig in Hawaii. People will buy fairly cheap, totally undeveloped forest tracts and lure unsuspecting people in who dream of "Hawaii". But, th

Yup...my parents share videos from their iphone to my android and it is of a quality where you can literally count the pixels. Maybe there is a way to share higher quality, but they're not tech savvy and just do what is the default.

Describing it like this makes it sound very much like a ponzi scheme. When you buy into WLD, you're effectively giving money to current WLD holders, with the hope that more suckers will buy in and do the same for you.

If it takes 7hp(5200w) for 5m, let's say a person can do 100w, so they will take 52x as long, so 260m total. Broken up between 7 sessions a day for a week means each session is only 5 minutes.
