They already offer Apple Pay on the web. I imagine the experience will be similar here.

Sign in the Apple is a great idea for users. I can see developers not wanting to adopt it due to loss of customer data. I'm curious to see how adoption plays out.

I like the concept. Simplified privacy settings management and content deletion make a lot of sense for non-technical users.

I lived through an experience very similar to this. The little people got peanuts. Two things really burned me. One was exactly the point you made, with such a small team it would haven't been much to make the payout go from pathetic t

I worry a bit about the App Store screenshot with the arcade tab. Apple Music is a permanent part of the Music app UI even when you aren't a subscriber. It is a bit of an annoyance. Now it appears Arcade will be there to bug me for a s

It also forces individual home owners into a corner. Anecdotally, I have a friend who bought in the 90s for peanuts and now his house is easily worth more than a million dollars. He has specifically said something along the lines of "w

I finally had a chance to try one out recently and was very frustrated with the experience. After attempting to use several shown on Bird's map I gave up. Some were broken, some were almost certainly being hoarded inside of apartment b

I have found this to be extremely true working for a small company in CA. We have great benefits and ok salaries for the market, but nowhere near the huge total comp numbers seen at big companies. Decent candidates are hard to come by and g

One time I used the Eat24 service built into Yelp's app to avoid a difficult phone call with a nearby restaurant. I waited a while then drove to the restaurant. When I asked about my order the hostess told me the FAX had just arrived a

On iOS and now newer versions of Android you are able to individually grant and revoke permissions. What information are you expecting them to extract via the app that you can't block?

Living in a neighborhood with a lot of tree cover, I have recently been very impressed with Apple's 3d geometry lately. My area is effectively houses in the woods. I'm amazed they have been able to extract geometry and textures be

This use of data seems reasonable if the company is truly following the constraints described. The way I read it fever rates were sold to advertisers with zip code granularity. Advertisers could then target markets, but not individuals. It

Outside of the specifics of this article, I've wondered what effect GDPR has had on smaller companies and even individual developers. My company spent a lot of time and money to become compliant. Not only was this expensive, but we rel

I don't think this cost comparison is true if you look at the older generation iPhones still for sale. Yes, a Xs is extremely expensive, but choosing a 7 or 8 drops the price significantly and these older models still hold up well.

Many have made fun of the new names using roman numerals and moving to "Max" instead of "Plus", but I think it all makes a lot of sense when you look at the larger picture. They are clearly making a major change to the p

Since the event yesterday I've been thinking about how these new models play out with Apple's history of selling the older phones at a discount for two years. The X was replaced by the Xs and is no longer for sale. I wonder if thi

I'm amazed by the sizing. The SE appears to be gone. This means the smallest device you can buy is the 7/8. Many still find this to be too large. Considering Apple's history of selling older iPhone models at a lower price, it

This strategy makes perfect sense, but does come with a psychological component that is difficult to overcome. When you but the 7 or 8 there is a sense you are buying an out of date product as opposed to a new, lower-end product. I'm s

The idea is exciting, but the pricing looks too high for side projects. The docs state "Aurora Serverless can scale from a minimum of 1 ACU to a maximum of 256 ACUs." Unless I'm reading this incorrectly, you are paying for 1
