I got Pike's point on that, and love go overall, but this is really the topic on which I can't agree. The biggest problem with that is that throwing exceptions has a purpose : it makes errors interrupt program by default. With err

Yes, I was not thinking of java (nor any other jit compiler) saying that, but more specifically of C and C++. Also note, in those, it's not especially the building part that annoys me (running tests can just be as long, even in interpr

Although it's not directly related to the tech side, I would love to have your feedback on alibaba. It suddenly appeared in my search results last month when looking to buy something, with a lot of results - from alibaba itself and fro

Ok, thanks. So I guess we're talking about events as a problem for things like node.js or eventmachine. Out of curiosity, you mentioned nginx as using callback chain ; has it any difference with apache in that regard ?

Sorry if this is a naive question (I'm more a user than a developer in that field), but isn't the point of multiprocess webservers precisely to keep that callback chain small (especially if we talk about multiple API calls, which

I'm more interested in the cross platform thing from avocode than css generation. As an webdeveloper on linux, doing the frontend development work from psds is always a pain, as gimp has only partial support (mostly : can't work w

I've tried pages, but it's indeed not what I would. I can't find a mean to even just make them appear on my profile, other than making a manual link in "about" page description. Definitely not good enough :)

Yes, I've heard some vague reports from others ISP users too, but not anything I have measured of even just experienced first hand. That's the reason why I've switched to the new ISP services from ovh, though, as they made ne

Same problem exists in France with the "Free" (actual business name) ISP. It's a large ISP here, and it throttles access to youtube (and probably other content providers). It has been so for years. For some reason, there is n

That's not the biggest problem, to me. Google+ maybe has not hit the target usage stats google wanted, but even when you love google+, it's awkward to use. I'm a daily google+ user and quite like the product. But when it come

I have to agree with that, even if it's very hard and is on the edge of blaming the victim. I feel for people losing everything, but really, don't keep your stash at exchanges. Those are meant for trading, not as main account. To
