Could be easily fixed by one line of CSS to make the dang buttons larger, but apparently Hacker News can't be bothered to improve their shitty website. EDIT: great community, shitty website.

Persona is a neat idea, but there's a better one: get rid of password logins altogether. I should just be able to enter my email on ANY site, and they'll send me an email with a login button. I click the login button in the email,

Not to mention that Product Hunt violates their own rules all the time: I see plenty of posts for big companies like Microsoft announcing products that aren’t available yet (e.g. Hololens, Windows 10 before it came out, etc), even though th

Tappur does exactly that: http://tappur.co It's a widget in your notifications bar and your lock screen with buttons for remote control. Also has a smartwatch app. I use it all the time and it's so much faster than the

It seems a little disingenuous to recommend a product that hasn't even shipped yet. You have no idea if they work, or if they'll even be built.

iPhones can't even send files to other iPhones or Mac or anything over Bluetooth. In fact iPhone doesn't even HAVE files. It's 2015 and still the only way to share files from your iPhone is to plug it in.

Or just wait for Google to release Weave and Brillo. Those are both open platforms for communicating with IoT devices. Which is the exact opposite strategy as Apple's, who is SO CLOSED DOWN you actually need to buy a physical chip from

If only there was other bridge hardware that could communicate in a more open manner. Unfortunately, Hue is one of the only companies that even OFFERS an SDK—most other systems are completely closed down.

Technically, they're not manipulating the clipboard at all. That is definitely disallowed by browsers. What they are doing is extending the selection to an invisible part of the page, so you're copying more than you bargained for.

This is a small nitpick, but I'd say Dropbox competes against sysadmins setting up a corporate network share or FTP server (or even email attachments) for storing documents. They basically automated the sysadmin's job, with a slic

It's definitely noticeable. I disabled the fancy UI on a cheap little HP laptop I bought a year ago, and it runs way faster. Maybe it has a crappy GPU, but turning off all that extra visual stuff definitely makes a huge dent.
