This is an interface design/hardware issue, not a display optimization issue. The article makes the bulk of the case for pixel optimization while discussing very small icons, and that's true, but it's a red herring. Interfaces should never

How would you be losing sleep now? Assuming you were Github, as of now you would have (1) identified the problem, (2) fixed the issue, (3) handled the public relations with a press release that includes a future disclosure policy. You proba

Suburbia in general is only possible with supportive regulation. There is a reason Sonic's business model has only developed in very dense neighborhoods (4000 person/mi^2 vs <1000p/mi^2 for other suburbs). If we are going to live in eco

You just contradicted yourself: "it's hard to say that other companies didn't rip off the 'idea' of the iPhone." and "Of course, the 'idea' of the iPhone wasn't new either". If the idea wasn't new, then other companies weren't ripping off t

Jobs was an idea person, not an engineer. You have to imagine the engineer getting excited about the ideas going into building something. Later, Jobs sees that same idea popping up everywhere, and his natural response is to claim that it wa

(This will be an unpopular opinion) The community response to this is ridiculous. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other company that has responded to community criticism within a day or two with a policy reversal, a software ch

But there are two algorithms in context here, and the more complex/efficient one is the OS preemptive scheduler. It then appears that 'willvarfar' is agreeing with 'ot' in a sentence that is structured as a critique. It confused me... >

That scheme would be far less reliable. For one, if you corrupt a file and don't notice right away, you lose it forever (which sort of defeats the purpose of backups, doesn't it?). Also, you wouldn't actually do a full backup every day. You
