As a Pokemon go player, I would say it isn't. There's even a Pokemon exclusive to the middle east region: sandstorm pattern Vivillion. Lots of players there.

Out of curiosity, I wondered if you could break a tokenizer by introducing weird characters not mapped to an id. But apparently, they either just emit a [UNK] token or translate the unrecognized character into raw UTF-8 bytes.

It isn't. I constantly have access to non-public information, like the life of my peers and corporate secrets. Is it useful or essential or even desirable for LLM products? Hardly not, but it exists. Edit: for "not in the training
