This upsets me so deeply in my core that so many companies do this instead of creating anything new for a customer to buy. I can't even process that someone would be mentally disturbed enough to even think of this, and not feel any sha

As much as I hate Apple for what they've done to the average consumer in regards to computing, it would be just impossible and dishonest to say anything other than Apple is the outright winner in streaming devices. The experience is so

That's the basis of the entire American economy, so it's not looking good for humans.

I probably haven't adjusted things well enough to make the most of Opus 5, but yes, I did provide a lot of information in advance with Fable 5 probably mostly because I was concerned about resource constraints. However, I believe Fable

I have probably the worst use case, but I like it. I have a very specifically structured ZDOTDIR, and I write everything in a way that is self-documenting. After a while, you probably know more commands and utilities than you know what to d

Really? I take it you haven't seen the plague of review excerpts plastered on even the covers of hardcover books.

I guess there aren't that many options anymore for x86, but for really old amd64 I've been using Void Linux recently. It's not too bad even for non-technical users if they're provided an alias/function file to sourc

Sony and other vendors got to remove the concurrency problem of tangible items, and it's only fair the internet of file sharing gets to solve the concurrency problem of a public library in the same way.

I'm very serious. It's not a simple matter to get any sort of exportable data from these cloud services, and they won't bother to notify you that media that was on your playlist or in your library has been removed. I gave App

Hard to argue against it when you get memory holed by playlist entry removals by a cloud service. Much easier living having everything at `.config/mpd/playlists` with git history.

I still don't know really what Kubernetes is for or why so many people outside specific environments are using it, but it's cool that you're using Ruby.

Misspoke. I didn't mean that type of parity, but just hashes, and a matching drive (in make and capacity) externally for an exact copy.

The cables and how they have to be managed/positioned in a case. I've had panics over a drive failing when it was just the cable after I'd already replaced the drive, restored data, and ran tests on the old drive that turned

I suppose I couldn't guarantee I haven't, but I keep a total backup, and other backups based on file lists. I keep a record of every file of importance that I've ever written/modified/interacted with, and those list

I have external parity for everything with rsync. I don't have any storage that isn't matched with external backups. Fortunately I've never seen any bitrot or had a drive fail on me since I tend to replace them before they do

They give me regular access to Fable, or I'm going to unsubscribe and lobby the heavens for Cohere to release a consumer AI service with a lady's name instead of something like "Claude."

I'm sure people have reasons for taking these things as far as they do with ZFS, and everything else that goes into what is commonly considered a "NAS." But I've found great convenience in a tight NFSv3 config running fr

I'm sure most of it is above my head, but I purchased the entire set in a mispricing for approximately ~$40 some time ago, and I'm really happy to have it in my library.

I am unsure if I can rationally justify saying this, but I am left with disappointment and unease. Comparable to when a series I care about changes showrunner and jumps the shark.
