Lock-out vacations were one of my favorite things about being at a bank. Auditors cared about the ability for employees to keep a thumb on the scale, so it was a policy requirement that all workers with a certain amount of access needed to

Been wondering the same. GCP recently increased their egress pricing, and was expecting AWS to follow. So far, haven't seen any other notable cloud price increases. Thought for sure they'd be reevaluating by now, I'm surprise

I think the post you're replying to was commenting on "web dev is a culture shock in so many ways", not the concept of cooldowns overall.

I'm not sure if it's a full standard (eg UL), or an informal one, but one reason you might not want detachable cords on kitchen appliances is because the cords are intentionally short to avoid dangerous accidents. If cords are swa

Style, and the effort an author put into their writing are both legitimate targets of rhetoric, analysis, and criticism.

It's much more difficult for some gTLDS. Once you have a bunch of international domains, it's not even generally possible to have a single registrar who can support them all.

Gandi's support collapsed a couple years ago. Couldn't even get ahold of anyone with a pulse to help with transfers.

It seems you're correct - the post has been modified. > This entry was updated on April 21 to correct the incident timeline and scope characterization based on post-publication reporting from Context.ai's security bulletin. >

> What bites people: rotating a vercel env variable doesn't invalidate old deployments, because previous deploys keep running with the old credential until you redeploy or delete them. So if you rotated your keys after the bulletin

Some of the details in this report, like the timeline beginning in 2024-2025, haven't been widely reported? Anyone know where these dates are being sourced from? eg, > Late 2024 – Early 2025: Attacker pivots from Context.ai OAuth ac

The service wouldn't have access to the refresh token? How does authentication with the client-secret-holding intermediary work? It's easy to see how this would work with sufficiently sophisticated clients in some use-cases, say v

There are some composers who use a workflow like this - Suno is a scratchpad which can be used to quickly trial ideas, clarify concepts with collaborators, etc. don't think it's common, either among composers, or Suno users at lar

I would be curious to hear more about what makes a winch tension sensitive. Would it limit and hold a maximum force? Slip beyond a certain limit?

You can look at pasta and bread the same way. Potassium perchlorate and powdered aluminum can be used to make flash powder. Just because road flare contains both doesn't mean it's going to explode in your hand.

I'm thinking ISPs, colo, cloud. By the time SLA thresholds are being breached you've been through months (or years) of pain. They're not strong enough or specific enough to save you from a bad provider. ymmv

I'm criticizing the readability of that first "Agent Loop" section. It's basically a slideshow which advances and presents several content areas which are intended to be read, all while advancing and resizing themselves.

Is this gorgeous? Content resizing, needing to juggle a speed knob to read, and the overall presentation makes it feel like Edward Tufte flavored nightmare fuel.

Theft isn't far off, it seems closer to me than using the word for IP violations. When a crawler aggressively crawls your site, they're permanently depriving you the use of those resources for their intended purpose. Arguably, it
