I'm sympathetic to the rebellion against 'clean code'. I think this obsession with clean code is a natural reaction to the overwhelming number of gotchas that seem to just come with the job. It's a bit like when a parent

I personally am alright with that annoying thing given that the alternative is Google tracking my location in real-time.

I agree. Also, sometimes the line between 'almost correct' and 'complete bullshit' is very thin.

I agree that it should just be a mass storage device. Fwiw you can connect it to Wifi and transfer files using an open source GUI program called ReMy. It uses ssh. No cloud storage account needed. https://github.com/bordaigo

I think you're right, but perhaps more aggressive marketing already helps a lot. I'm not a marketing person, but for example, take advantage of these kind of events to let people know that Matrix's network is impossible to go

Is it really "on the other hand"? LSP has paved the way for 'hybrid-source' (part closed part open) IDEs. Technically you can close down all the good parts of the IDE and open-source the bare minimum client-side function

I'm not saying that it's not weird you can't get 32GB. I agree that's a problem. I just don't understand why these things have to take up so much memory. Why does it need to be all in-memory? How slow would it reall

Why can't modern developer applications use less resources? (Partially rhetorical, partially genuinely curious about what's the problem here.)

Aside from the development environment, I find the language itself also very elegant. While the evaluation rule for binary messages can be very counterintuitive (always left-to-right, so 1 + 2 * 3 = 9), the rule is simple and easy to learn.

What about pre-installed spyware tracking you? Where do you draw the line there? Did you know that, for example, Roborock stock firmware sends your wi-fi password to Xiaomi? [1] Does that make you feel secure? Where are the calls for regula
