We are now in de facto monopolistic behavior (think apple, Microsoft and Google or Azure, GCS and AWS) with permanent price raises of the richest companies in the world. Data interop can break this de-facto monopoly and allow competition.

The commission is subject to the courts like any other government body. The European courts have been quite in point in defending consumers and common people. IMHO no drama here.

And on topic of trade union: we are now 20 or 30 years beyond that point depending which treaty you take. When you integrate trade, you agree on rules. When you establish rules, you need a government body. When you govern the four freedoms,

Many countries do not elect leaders but parlamentarian representants with their own freedom to elect whoever they like. While I do not appreciate the way how the commission is assembled, it is just two election representations away from the

While I agree, I think it is a matter of perspective. For the industry a click rate of 0.00020 vs 0.00026 makes a big financial difference. (Numbers are obviously made up :))

IMHO, we are not in a state of overregulation in IT. We are certainly on a path towards having more solid regulatory framework (looking at privacy, post market cybersecurity and basic no-gos like here) but the road is still long and overreg

I have a very high confidence that DNS survives. And I would not bet against http, html and fundamental E/R databases. Http and html evolution can be managed by Wordpress inc. The database migrated. I am worried that a cobol/VB st

The diagram industry is ready to be disrupted. Views on views, your pushing idea, etc. So many ideas. Right now most tools including lucidchart and old timers like Enterprise architect are far too static

The "Sample UML" is no UML. My apologies for being rude but this is not a component diagram nor any other standardized UML diagram. UML components have a visual indicator (to not confuse them with classes), use ports and connector

UML is awful when you pick up its meta stuff and try to use it 100% perfect. Otherwise it has all critical modeling methods and established a shared visual understanding. I prefer UML any day over eg lucidchart or Visio. Not that they canno

Our industry somehow lacks a good understanding of licenses. Like you outline, just use a different license. They might not attract people to contribute (because everyone has motives) but prevent all the aspects of behavior you do not want

Reactive Programming I guess is the key to GUIs from F#/FP perspective. It is the modern way of doing things anyway but requires then a UI stack which is optimized for it.

There is a nuance I love to bring up: .NET biggest strength in the apps market today is the best support for native interop. Bridging .NET to Swift/Objective-C or .NET to (Android) Java. Every time there are layer in between, you loose

The abbreviation of "MS Build" is not working well. msbuild is the build system (as in make, ant, Gradle, ...) of .NET and VS generally. Mixing msbuild and Java would be so wrong.
