I don't know where you get your information from, but I don't think anyone links specific languages with security oriented projects.

I don't think you understand the words written yourself. At least provide some relevant, convincing examples instead of throwing these claims around.

Maybe spend a little time understanding how the law in question works and how it applied specifically to that case. Everything followed the procedure from what I can tell.

My data point: I live 10 minutes walk from my office, the campus has a cafeteria, and I have my own office. Still I don't want to be forced to come into office, simply because I feel more comfortable and relaxed at home. It is a quiet

Very disappointing to see that there are almost no benchmark quoted in this thread, only words like "snappy" or hypothetical questions. I have been reading articles to understand if converting some of our JS code to WebAssembly co

Also developers' problem. I just saw code that imports a 1M library to use one function that would take anyone no more than 10 minutes to implement. Maybe it is not too bad in the end because of tree shaking etc, but this kind of thing

Well said. Where I work, the only people who talk about languages and compare languages are the people who are language nerds, who know many languages and are learning/discovering new languages. Most people just chug along with whateve

Not everyone has the same spending habits. I (in the US) happen to know that none of my colleagues buy Starbucks or any other shop coffee on a regular basis. Although we are paid a decent (although not high) salary and can easily afford thi

I don't trust Google, but it's practical. There are tons of ways you can control/limit privacy issues, like a combination of opting out of personalized ads, AdGuard, DNS level filtering, and not using any Google services othe

I don't know what the complaint is about. Read after me: desktop Linux. Not clear? Again, desktop Linux. I think that is abundantly clear what counts and what doesn't.

I once got a Chromebook to see how far I can go with running Linux programs on it. As soon as I discovered that its keyboard (and most of other Chromebooks) don't have F11 or F12, and window management is a mess, I got rid of it. I gue

I guess you have no idea how much money it costs to develop something like Chrome, especially at Google's salary.

A few programmers on HN think only they use laptops (and specifically Macbooks). Not surprising. If you just bother to open your eyes just a little bit wider you would notice that there is a huge market for Chromebooks, budget laptops, gami

Just look around in this thread you can find people defending Google. It is not hard to think an engineer would actually want to work on this themselves.
