I agree with you that the German banks facilitated the spending, but the fault still lies with the countries that abused that money. You cannot blame the bank for your debt after requesting your 12th credit card! Aside: I believe that the

Germany may have profited from the spending sprees of the southern nation, but it did not directly cause the problem. Lack of discipline is what caused the crisis. Germany passed difficult structural reforms in the 2000s and is now reaping

I agree with your sceptisism. This is misusing a language feature, a better approach is using a decorator.

It sounds like you are already doing this, but now make sure that you not only answer your kids' questions, but more importantly teach them your A,B,C,D research/teaching steps! Give a man a fish, ... :)

And I think to answer the parent's question one can expand on your second point. I think most people don't admit to being wrong or not knowing because they 1). wrongly think of certain people as relevant or 2). they have chosen their releva

But how does that help the customer (be it internal or external)? How is he supposed to align capital, human or financial? For example: when does he tell the marketing team to start the big launch campaign, etc? An example would be somethin

Even though the author may be making a valid point, I don't think it matters. I mostly program for myself and for other programmers (or at least technically inclined people). I don't care if my mother uses the software I write. That is why

You didn't say that per se, but I felt it in the undertone of the whole essay. See some of these sentences: "As I was doing it I tried to imagine what a transcript of the other guy's talk would be like, and it was only then I realized he ha

"If you're worried about getting respect, you're worried about the wrong thing". I don't agree with this. I agree that if you're worried about getting popularity, then you're worried about the wrong thing. Respect is important, but only fro

I never get arguments like this. In a perfect market every entity tries to get as much money as the market is willing to pay. There are some pretty extreme example such as this one, but in the whole that is a good thing!

I am not sure about this, but I think that if you adhere to the HATEOAS principle you could provide URIs for non-existent resources that can then be used to PUT. Example a user profile may contain a URI to the user's profile picture althoug

Actually these is quite a big difference. PUT specifies the resource to be update, whilst POST does not do so. This means that you must (according to RFC 2616) use POST if you want to create a new resource and PUT if you want to change an e
