Sorry to hear. You’re not alone and I’m constantly surprised to learn how many people I know are dealing with hearing concerns once I started talking about mine more. My note to younger self is similar: get great earplugs and use them dilig

No code or pseudocode for the algorithm? Boo. Something like this would be nice to add to my app JukeLab that turns your tablet into a jukebox, powered by Spotify. It currently uses Fisher Yates to shuffle for auto play which does feel weir

Love the demoscene. As kid with my first computer, demos like Second Reality were pure magic to download, run and watch. I still use demoscene videos a lot in my DJ and VJ work. If you know you know but most ppl have never seen these works

https://www.jukelab.com/ Turn your iPad into a jukebox. I’ve thrown 20+ parties with it and it’s always a hit. Putting it out in the universe for fellow jukebox nerds to try out too!

Not complete or permanent but it’s mellowing out over time to where I almost never hear it during the day, and it’s no bother at a quiet night, and easily masked by a fan or a podcast. The main things for me were - take a major break from d

Amen to always having good ear plugs. I tried many including the Eargasms and never found a comfortable fit. So I got molds and custom ear plugs from Westone. They are so comfortable and high quality they often improve the quality of the mu

This is my hypothesis too. I participated in YC S15. We all quit our jobs, and my co-founders moved to from Atlanta to SF for the summer, we rented a big house as a live/work space, and drove together to Mountain View the required few

The std library is a big part of the magic. It’s so shocking to go to JS land and see that there are 10 different 3rd party libraries to make http requests, all with wildly different ergonomics all within one code base due to cross dependen

Ah, thanks for the info about the hub. Mission street is an obvious “artery” to drive up and down looking for people and going too/from a hub. I also suspect the bus lanes help in a way. Just go with the flow in the single car lane.

The Cruise app is “invite only until they have more cars”. So not fast for me yet. For friends that do have an invite it seemed pretty much the same as an Uber. 10 or so minutes to get a ride home around dinner time.

There’s a parallel with ChatGPT. It’s like an intern that never gets tired of reading and learning and answering any question the moment you ask it any time of the day.
