Great points and comparison to Rust. I'll tweak my view. Go is a pragmatic systems language. It's design and tooling is better than scripting languages for systems glue. There will be many places where it's not suitable vs C

How about Docker and other tools in the container space? Go is a great systems language. The stdlib is through and handling IO and pipes is safe and fast. Amazon is using as the mission critical ecs-agent that orchestrates their container s

Nice. I'm addicted to automatically running `gofmt` on .go file saves. Now I'm crazy sensitive to whitespace and formatting discrepancies that show up in .js or .css files from different environments. It seems like EditorConfig ha

Consider how the perspective of a director, in charge of a large team of engineers, can effect the entire engineering culture. If this director has a more human and compassionate perspective, she might help push back on all feature requests

Awesome. I can think of a ton of reasons a hiring manager would say "I can't do that." Not about race, but about remote and time zones. So kudos to you for trying something that opened you up to far more candidates, finding t

The ecosystem is changing so rapidly right now. One answer is to stick with whatever AWS offers. The EC2 Container Service (ECS) offers a practical solution to running your app as containers on a cluster of multiple servers without adding a

If you're comfortable deploying to AWS, I'm building an open source and free platform, Convox, that addresses your setup and deployment questions. Here are a couple guides that walk you through your first Docker cloud deployment:

I'm not disappointed. It's great to see Rackspace competing in container services. But I agree... At this level of abstraction ECS is far more attractive because of the rest of the AWS services and ecosystem. Joyent deserves a lot
