This is a common problem, and I saw it during a brief stint considering involvement in Code For America; too much emphasis on technology and code, not enough emphasis on the outcome/objective. Most of these nonprofits would be better s

Coming off of an extremely disappointing Build - I don’t think any news even made it to HN this year, and not a peep about desktop - I agree that the future is unclear. WinUI is the future, but they’ve admitted it will be years before it re

I don’t have any physics background so maybe this doesn’t make sense but I’m betting someone can answer. If time is relative, what is a microsecond when there is nothing to relate it to? What does time dilation do to a microsecond when you’

I love my iPhone and solidly side with Apple in this case, and have ditched Spotify due to their spiteful position. Fuck Epic. Still, I totally agree with this: > What I wish would happen — and yes, I know this is naive and stupid and pr

You’re being downvoted, but living in Oregon I don’t really see the problem. I’m not really attached to borders and I’m trying to understand why other people are. It is an aspect of political science I’d like to know more about if people ha

I’m not the person you asked, but I evaluated and passed on Notion (and Coda, and Airtable) for similar reasons. I need a system that syncs, works offline, helps capture structured-ish data, is quick+flexible, and has fabulous linking. I di

I wish the leftists doing things like this would take the time to think about the consequences. It isn’t helping their cause to make clowns of themselves. That is painful as someone who genuinely wants to see reform and many leftist ideas s

Their tech, at least on iOS, needs investment. I had to drop Tidal after trying for a month. CarPlay was a disaster, it just didn’t work well, very laggy, things didn’t always play, it wasn’t great about handling offline playlists. Separate

For me it is Spotify Connect, and I still can’t believe no one has copied. I’m in the process of getting my speakers set up with airplay, which might be my one way out. It still won’t be as good as Spotify Connect. I just hate that Spotify

As a formerly obese person, I can absolutely confirm this. Respect is a big issue for me, because for the first ~25 years of my life, disrespect and even disgust were the default with every new person I interacted with. Still, I mostly like
