I get why there should be protection for people on paternity leave. At the same time, if you're using an 'expectations' system appropriately and honestly (as opposed to just a renaming of some other scale) it may be dishonest

That last bit sounds like textbook age discrimination; if you have that on any sort of record, or even if you don't, I would consider challenging it - not just for yourself, but for all the other 50+ job seekers out there. Full disclos

Windows is not a real time OS. Neither is Linux (except for perhaps a limited number of forks/distros). If someone is going to die if a computer stops working for any reason at all, it should not be running Windows, or Linux, or macOS.

They don't say it at all, but perhaps the biggest change here is that they're making headings big and bold now. For quite a few years, Apple, Microsoft, and Google (even pre-material) all seemed to be competing on thinnest, smalle

Really, really disappointed by the lack of Windows on ARM news. All the rumors were pointing to it, but it looks like we're stuck with Intel. Not that Intel is bad, and its gotten better on mobile, but still, legitimate choice would be

I just recently completed a build myself. It was pre-Ryzen so AMD wasn't an option at the time. I went with the Intel i7-7700 (quad core) at 3.6 GHz. I was surprised by two big things: high-performance devices are extremely affordable
