Just want to say well done. I’ve played with this with Tamagui[0] and I’d love to see this stack continue to develop. Specifically, I think there’s a rare window of opportunity to replicate the new Expo router file system routes exactly in

I don’t think you have the capability to understand this thread. I’m talking about virtual meetings specifically, and then adding a note about why it’ll never be generally popular like we see smartphones only because someone replied with th

And they weren’t as popular then. They also were unobtrusive in the ways that matter - you could walk around and talk while doing other things. David Foster Wallace has a whole thing on this in IJ that really captures it well, where even co

Phones work because they are so simple, unobtrusive and easy to position and use contextually. They are the argument against VR.

People just won’t put on world-occluding headsets to talk to cartoons, end of the day. Only in bubble-land does this pass the smell test imo.

You’ve made up three things, each without convincing rhetoric let alone evidence, and then put QED at the end.

I get it, but it means you end up with the arbitrary and limited API that you’d mostly only use for the benefits at the edge, except now you aren’t at the edge and still have all the limitations.

Reddit r/peptides and r/nootropics like a lot of these substances. Also u/Misteryouaresodumb of NootropicsDepot is a wealth of knowledge. There’s a long tail of YouTube and other sources you’ll find from there.

DurableObjects? It's a totally arbitrary API that's non portable and definitely not easily replaced. And once you opt out of db there's a lot less reason for the whole thing.

They are complex, expensive, locked in, partially closed source, and not nearly close to complete solutions. It’s a shiny thing, but at the cost of so much DX and optionality which is a worrying general trend with edge stuff.

The original comment may have it backwards but the idea/outcome is the same, their point stands. Still good to note the Gov messages what’s in their interest at the expense of individuals.

Clickbait title * 1000. As someone who is building a “Yelp clone” of sorts, this amounts to about 1/1,000,000,000 of the amount of work to actually build a Yelp clone. I get that this could be helpful for absolute beginners who just wa
