The author seems to have mildly misunderstood the technicalities of hashcash-like systems. They seem to have thought that the hex representation of the hash matters when mining, when really we're talking about large integers. If you ju

Yeah, only because .is domains were being compromised and a new TLD was chosen as an easy alternative.

Internally they're fairly common. You can probably take a normal USB drive and find the write protect pin on the datasheet.

That's completely correct. In order the node tries it's inbuilt knowledge of the network, the falls back to DNS seed nodes to discover peers, then falls back to hardcoded nodes if all of those fail. If no single peer can be contac

Windows is supported. I imagine Xcode is almost completely unusable with that CPU and the tiny amount of RAM.

You completely misunderstand memory. 4GB is the bare minimum for Mavericks, any less and even on an SSD you're delving into swap hell. 8GB is really skimpy to have just as an upgrade option, I'm constantly hitting my limits on 16G

Different again actually, it's just a failing in the detection of hostname/search term which I couldn't find a setting to disable.

Even if it's turned off you can leak information. Mis-type a local hostname and suddenly your secret URL is public to Google. I've done this more than a few times.

It's probably best to avoid using the term anyway. Blockchain.info should really only be a technical tool but non-technical people seem to insist on using it and misunderstanding it.

"From" implies to users that every previous output is owned by a person, is controlled by a person, or is even an address. None of these are always true (though they usually are), which leads to disasters like people sending &qu

The terms on your website don't really mesh with the actual behavior of the blockchain. There is no "from" address, there is never a "from" address.

I don't think this is what is going on here, it makes no sense for it to operate like this. To demonstrate this is not the case, I just momentarily unplugged my NIC and then submitted this comment. The connection was definitely dropped

Basically. I don't think there will be ever a replacement just due to the overwhelming complexity of it. Unless we can deal with Pantone and other weird colour spaces on linux, nobody will switch.

Yeah, IPv4 is pretty much empty. Lots of companies own a /8 all to themselves, like Xerox (13.0.0.0/8), Apple (17.0.0.0/8), USPS (56.0.0.0/8) and Ford (19.0.0.0/8) to name a few. None of them allocate even the tinie
