I think it just gets stuck on old songs you played. My kids played "The Bacon Song" a few times on my spotify, you can imagine what my recommendations are like now. I wish Spotify had a way to remove "bad songs" from wha

It's sort of funny how you get used to things and normalize them, especially the violence that occurs in the US. I lived in Chicago for nearly a decade, much of it on the near west side, and it was normal to hear gunshots a few blocks

Real shit is rarely interesting and typically won’t challenge your skills as a coder. Generally they just test your ability to wire together APIs, learn mundane domain specific concepts, and tolerance of boredom. Getting low level can be re

eBPF helps with kernel observability - an area that has been sorely lacking in the past. For the JVM or .NET, they give you virtually no insight at all into system calls - so eBPF is complementary to VM profilers, not a replacement. If you

It's that old aphorism - be yourself. I find it hard to do as well - it seems like a common issue with my generation (Millennials). I know it impacts my ability to make real connections, because I can come across overly fake. I'm

Yeah that’s pretty old and Drew doesn’t even seem much involved in Sway anymore. He’s right but it still doesn’t stop someone from making an EGLStreams fork of wlroots - if I had the time I’d probably try this myself.

Most people do care about privacy, but generally they are not even aware of how their privacy is being violated - Google and Facebook are very good at hiding the reality of these things. But you're right, the cost is the ultimate facto

I'm a huge fan of i3 and sway. I recently stopped using sway because these WMs don't work well on large screens or ultrawides. They are optimized for smaller screens, especially laptop screens. I swapped to a 48" OLED and the

We just need some enterprising person to add EGLStreams support for wlroots (this actually used to exist in old sway versions). I'm not sure they would accept such a PR though. It's pretty irritating though that nvidia doesn'

True, I'm not sure what the black dirt is from, it might not be from the diesel as you suggest. However most of the air pollution on high traffic roads is from diesel - they are not really clean at all. That is a complete myth propagat

It’s sort of ridiculous to suggest moving house and family is “quick and easy”. Most likely her house was only affordable because it was in such a polluted area. Many areas in London are like this unfortunately - walls completely covered in

Indeed. It's probably why they've been so slow to support IPv6 across their various services. I still don't think you can have a pure IPv6 network yet on a VPC.

That’s not even true. Bose QC35 ii measure objectively very well for headphones. They, like other high quality ANC headphones, use the ANC mic to EQ themselves to a good reference target. Also no one uses closed back headphones for studio w

I think my original response was a bit overly dramatic. But my point still remains. I don't think you can compare an OS X based laptop to anything else. The software available is far too different, and OS X is much more locked down (an

I regret my response here as being overly dramatic. I think I got triggered by some of the obvious Apple worship going on. But my response isn't much better.

Interesting, thanks for the stats. I guess the trick is getting the GP referral in the first place. I am pretty sure as a normal-seeming adult, if I asked for an ASD assessment, my GP would be extremely reluctant. I would have to be very in

Such a silly argument. An M1 Mac embarrasses no one but prior Macbooks, as it only runs OS X. There is no useful comparison to Windows or Linux. It's as asinine as comparing a mobile phone performance to a desktop PC.
