Have you written a gradle plugin? It’s like a dark art. The gradle internals are a poorly documented, complicated magical mess. I wrote several gradle plugins used by 1000+ devs and I’m about the only one who understood how gradle worked in

It's colloquially called a "whitey". Likely you had a very high THC strain and it hit your body like a truck of bricks because you weren't accustomed to it.

It already is. OpenSUSE and Fedora both use brtfs by default now. It’s by far the most sensible fs for modern desktop usage and a killer feature of Linux.

Also, why is the iOS app so bad? All prompts keep disappearing on me and I have to try to figure out how to get a prompt again (I think it’s by tapping in some mystery region at the top of the screen?). Ugh. It’s very frustrating to use.

I guess I've been a "volcel" for almost 4 years now after an almost 20 year relationship. I have pretty mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I get lonely, intensely lonely at times. And I miss the companionship I had (be

I guess you've been lucky. Most doctors are crap, in my experience. I've actually had a doctor "diagnose" me by typing my symptoms into webmd and telling me I have IBS (which is basically a non-diagnosis). I've hear

Yes... in my experience, flowtime is a much better approach for creative work. [1] It's like an inverted pomodoro. Set a timer and track how long you work. When your work has a natural break (you pushed some code, etc.), pause the time

> social media is bad for the psyche I think it's more like social media is weaponised by bullies rather than it being inherently bad. I was assaulted in public at high school multiple times. Today, that kind of thing can be posted

My experience is the same, back in the 1990s. There was a ton of depression and even suicides when I was growing up. I felt like 50% of teens at my large HS were suffering from some kind of mental issue. And then you had major events like C

It makes it very easy to deal with nested data structures. Imagine creating a nested map/struct literal, and then extract the values out using a very similar syntax on a single line. It's one of those things that when you get used

Perfectly normal... undergrad CS focuses on theory over engineering. I think graduate work tends to touch more on the engineering side, but typically new grads will learn engineering on the job. This is how I did it, and from books (Code Co

Not really true. Urban areas suffer from this everywhere due to chronic lack of building (due to government policies mostly driven by nimbyism and similar factors). As a result absolute dumps on the bad side of town go for ridiculous sums.
