Nothing except CPU manufacturer choices. Mac laptops use it and they're consumer products. People will have to get used to buying a fixed amount of RAM with their CPU but thats unlikely to be a problem.

That's just an oddity due to nominally singular items having plural names. "*a scissors/pants" is correctly "a pair of scissors/pants" and you still use the definite "the scissors/pants" So

I have the opposite problem. I speak a non-English language (poorly) that hasn't got 'a' or 'the' so I end up shoehorning other words into the sentence to take their place, such as 'one [particular item]'
