You're right in that there is much less variety amongst decaf coffee options, but there are a few good single origins out there. BlendIn's Los Nogales typica is outstanding. It's the bean that convinced me to go full-decaf tw

Finally! A topic that I can directly contribute to! I quit caffeinated coffee two years ago. A roaster nearby me came out with a decaf single origin that was so good, it not only convinced me that I don't need caf'ed coffee anymor

This is very similar to Tesla's FSD adoption in my mind. For some (me), it's amazing because I use the technology often despite its inaccuracies. Put another way, it's valuable enough to mitigate its flaws. For many others, i

They're using it, yes, but it's still heavily subsidized by VC, and it reminds to be seen whether it will remain as popular as prices percolate upwards. Either way, layoffs all the same if this "doesn't work".

I'm shocked that this isn't talked about more. The pro-AI astroturfing done everywhere (well, HN and Reddit anyway) is out of this world.

I mean, there are AI applications that have improved humanity without threatening to enslave it, like computational photography, automated driver assistance for autos and biomedical applications. LLM and stable diffusion though? Yep; agree.

Fake handwritten mails are still a thing and still get instantly thrown away from me. Anything I'm sent that's AI generated doesn't get read. I realize this will get more difficult as models improve, but I'm standing by

Did the same. The Kindle app has a page-turn effect that can't be turned off, though, so I switched to KOReader. Unintuitive interface but fantastic for book reading.

ebooks.com is what I use. Their books use Adobe DRM, but that's easy to remove. I'll go to the publisher's website directly otherwise.

Precisely why I stopped buying eBooks from Amazon. DRM Kindle Unlimited books? Sure; makes sense. Books that I paid full price on? No way.
