Amtrak is amazing, but it is horrendously slow outside of the NE corridor (due to freight priority) and routes that should exist don't (Dallas to Houston, Toronto to NYP diagonally across New York instead of via Albany). Apparently it takes 8h to do DFW to Little Rock despite this being a 6h trip by car. That's not great.
