Same here. In fact, I uninstalled the YouTube app because there was no way to disable Shorts within it while I can use browser extensions to do so in Safari. (I pay for Premium.) Then again, I hardly use YouTube, so I don’t think I’m the ta

This would be great, yeah. Disable infinite scrolling and page caching (so that you’re not infinitely scrolling horizontally) and video autoplay too. Also add opt-out time limits and breaks.

Tbf, Docker had a similar start. “Just download this image from Docker Hub! What can go wrong?!” Industry caught on quick though.

Given the scope that AGENTS has, I would use PRs to test those changes and discuss them like any other large-impact area of the codebase (like configs). If you wanted to be more “corporate” about it, then assuming that devs are using some e

This matters for big engineering teams who want to put _some_ kind of guardrails around Claude that they can scale out. For example, I have a rule [^0] that instructs Claude to never start work until some pre-conditions are met. This works

This is, like, literally 47.1% of the posts here and elsewhere. "AI is terrible and is a scourge on humanity, but I used it to do this one thing, and..." Same shit as social media.

It's even more prolific than that. Ramones-core is a sub-genre of pop-punk, and it's awesome. Teenage Bottlerocket, Screeching Weasel and Swingin' Utters are some examples that come to mind.

It's not true. I thought it was also, so I looked at United Airlines 2024 Annual Report to confirm or deny my position. [^0] If you look at their revenue sheet, you'll see that UAL made ~$51B from passenger revenue (tickets sold *

I'm assuming you're talking about those Clover machines. They were really, really good and well designed IIRC. Trying to automate the barista with them; well, that's where they messed up!

Great band!!! The Spiritual Sound is an excellent album. As far as this interview: I mean, that's every band ever; the music is an ad for their shows and merch, which is the product. Some, like these folks, come to grips with this easi

I wondered this as well when I was shopping for a new TV a few years ago. Unfortunately, not only is it really difficult to find a "dumb" modern TV, but the best display panels will always be on smart TVs because that's what

I finally saw one of these in person last year! It was as fascinating as it was terrifying. It had a noticable array of sensors and (I think?) microphones along with a camera smack dab in the middle. Above that was its permanent ad display.
