It's just a bog standard Proxmox server running the VM. Plugged the devices in, added them to the VM from the UI and never had any issues.

My HASS VM is my oldest VM by far, it's never let me down. I agree it's way better than the docker approach, especially once you start adding USB things that need to be piped in.

Yeah similar experiences. The difference between getting my dell laptops fixed vs the absolute nightmarish hellscape of dealing with the apple store to get one fixed is enough to keep me a dell customer forever.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who finds the app store literally insufferable. like you have one option, their store, and now even their store you have to be careful because the ads are so subtle.

Whenever I go actually have to install an app from the apple store I really really have to pay attention to figure out what is an ad and what is what I actually want. Yeah it says it's an ad one it but it shows up first and the "i

Not directly related but way back in the day I had a Handspring Visor and would use something (i can't remember now what it was called) to download websites to it when I would sync it and it would be available on it. At the time i was

We use Postgres partitioning quite successfully to handle our customer based data. Everything is partitioned by customer and some customers are partitioned further. One gotcha to be careful with is that if you run a query spanning multiple

We use LXC on physically distributed Proxmox nodes. It let's us easily launch new VMs and migrate around when we need to. Nothing we have is very complicated but it works well. We use SaltStack to tear up special debug containers with

The complete lack of being able to have offtopic/misc conversations has really sucked. When we had slack we had a channel specific to just chitchat and it was always active but very loose and fun. We now have a "Chit Chat" ch

I built my current desktop with the whole goal of being a tank of a VFIO setup and I have no regrets. Best of both worlds for me as I used to just have two separate computers. QEMU/VFIO with Looking Glass is just such an amazing setup

I came to the same conclusion really, it's a neat service but even using something like Parsec locally induces enough latency that I just can't use it. I still run windows in a VFIO setup but Linux is really good for gaming these

What i've discovered is you really need to buy and/or install a bunch of 3rd party applications to get that horrible UI to work in any usable fashion.

I'm with you, I have two Macbooks I deeply regret buying because at this point they just sit in a pile unused because they are just so annoying to use. I'm in the market now for a replacement for my old 15" thinkpad that I&#x
