The current wave of AI seems more like an investment scam to me. Like crypto currencies and NFTs were.

That's probably why we like jams, preserves and tinned food so much. It'll be good for 10 years in some cases.

If slugs and snails eat your crops, eat them instead. In the UK, snails were brought over by the Romans explicitly as a food item.

It's somewhat off topic I know, but is there something like sqlite but tailored for hierachical data? Like a xml document store rather than for relational data like sqlite is.

I understand where you're coming from, but have you tried them? I think there's a good chance the first question will return 16 on 64 bit systems.

Very cool. I think this says quite something about the modern human thought process in general. We place a lot of emphasis on knowing how abstract rules we've created should interact and not so much on actually testing things for ourse

If you had read my original comment, you would see I didn't claim it's easy to do, only that it can be done in around 200 lines. That's clearly the case. Character set handling isn't really an issue for JavaScript as str

Oh yeah? Such as? What purposes do you think it wouldn't be good for? The author will probably be interested in your feedback. Apparently it's getting over a million downloads a week on npm.

This isn't my code, but gives you an idea of the level of complexity involved. But don't reimplement what you don't need to. https://github.com/mafintosh/csv-parser/blob/master/index.js

It's not as bad as all that. There's some gochas sure but you can cover them all with about 200 lines of code. However, I would recommend using a tested library to do the parsing, sqlite for example, rather than rolling your own.

AWK's new CSV and UTF-8 support is great, but when querying data I think in terms of SQL.

Lithium batteries also have costs involved even though they have benefits. I feel that pumped 'hydro' energy storage with dense liquids will be more sustainable for power grids in the long run. There are also aspects of our curren

Aside from whether intent is signalled or not, I would imagine courts may want to identify whether it is reasonable for any particular intent to not be honored in any particular set of circumstances. As you say, robots.txt isn't mandat

robots.txt is a standard and has been for many years. It seems that https://www.robotstxt.org is the main repository for its definition. Any robots.txt I might suggest wouldn't necessarily be appropriate for anyone else. It

Seems to me that any organisation that doesn't honor robots.txt would have a tougher time justifying to people that they are acting in good faith. Just my two cents of course. I understand OpenAI does honor it, which is to be expected

There is a * user agent that can be used to prevent all bots that honor robots.txt from crawling a site. Specific user agents can then be granted additional access afterward.
