2013 was pre-LLM. If devs continue relying on LLMs and their training would stop (which i would find unlikely), still the tools around the LLMs will continue to evolve and new language features will get less attention and would only be used

The hording and eliteness is not a property of the capitalistic system. It might be an unwanted side effect. Imperialism, greed, urge to expand control, subordination of others are unfortunately human traits. You might attribute that behavi

I don't believe capitalism is a zero sum game. Capitalism is not the holy grail, but when combined with laws that balance the uneven distribution of the wealth it _creates_, and laws that protect resources and cleanliness, it turns out

So watercode.in is a job application site with auto generated job descriptions and videos? Any actual jobs are hidden and the applications are simply sold to any company with similar job openings in the world? Recruitment.automata?

So the trump admin is going something like a battleship. I would be surprised if they would be capable of doing that. From what I have read and heard, they are much better at destroying existing functional structures than building functiona

When I was young there were fewer types of shapes but a lot of new sets contained a lot of such specialized shapes. I rather played with the lego i found in the attic.

There seem to be quite some negative comments to this post. Regardless of the title and the full story, I mostly feel empathy for the writer of the article. Half a year ago a colleague of mine told me, in tears, that her spouse suddenly lef

A bit baffled that he bought so much rather cheap stuff, almost like someone who's bored and tries to kill that feeling with shopping. I'd earlier expect someone rich would buy mostly expensive, exclusive or high quality items.

I think overspending usually is indeed trying to reduce some other negative feeling without solving the underlying problem that caused it. I don't think though the same mechanism is at play with the feeling of lust for some person, as

Nice to read this take on AI, especially on HN. I read on HN a lot of anecdotes of people who find less joy in work because AI is taking the fun out of it, or that it is relacing part if their job. For me it feels different. Finally i have

I don't understand, could you elaborate? In my perception ending a conversation is much easier than keeping it alive. People will pick up easily that you are not interested, even in the non verbal part of communication, no?

Interesting to read that people like that you answer in milliseconds to their questions or suggestions. I very often interrupt people when eagerly fitting into a conversation. That happens almost automatically and sometimes I apologize and

I believe that 'help or not' is a question impossible to answer, objectively at least. My subjective answer is that psychologic help in general is effective, whether it is provided orally, via books or as recently, via automation.

I live and work in Europe but I used to travel a lot for work to the US. Friendship or making friends indeed seems to work differently there, which was hard to grasp from my cultural pov. That said, I made a good friend there.
